In late November Watervale Safaris resigned as a long standing member of PHASA (Professional Hunting Association of Southern Africa).
At the recent AGM, the majority of members voted in favor of changing the constitution in support of hunting captive bred lions (CBL). This goes against absolutely everything we stand for and represent as ethical, fare chase hunters. We distance ourselves completely from such acceptance and no longer view PHASA as the legitimate mouthpiece of professional hunting in South Africa.
With that said, we are excited for the future and look forward to the establishment of a new organization with like-minded, ethical, conservation based hunters. More details on this in the near future.
